ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the curative effect of catheter thrombolysis in the treatment of subacute lower limb arterial occlusion. Methods Eighty-five patients with subacute lower limb arterial occlusion (98 limbs) and treated with catheter thrombolysis were enrolled and the removal of thrombus and patency of vessels were evaluated by angiography. Then, balloon dilatation or stent implantation was performed according to the angiographic findings after thrombolysis. Results After catheter thrombolysis, the degree and length of occlusion were significantly improved (P < 0.01). To judge the curative effect: significantly effective in 5 limbs (5.1%), effective in 85 limbs (86.7%), ineffective in 8 limbs(8.2%),total effective rate was 91.8%.Catheter thrombolysis combined with balloon dilatation and stent implantation were performed according the vascular occlusion status and all the occluded segments were open, the postoperative angiography showed no distal vascular occlusion. No bleeding occurred. Conclusions Catheter thrombolysis is effective and safe in the treatment of lower extremity arterial occlusion in subacute stage.Endovascular treatment combined with endovascular treatment can achieve good results.

ABSTRACT

Background and purpose:Breast cancer has the highest morbidity and mortality rate in women worldwide. Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) has no speciifc target and has low survival rate. Recent studies have veriifed BRD4 could promote tumor progression. This study aimed to detect the expression level of BRD4 in TNBC after treatment with gemcitabine, and to reveal the effect ofBRD4 silencing plus gemcitabine as a treatment for TNBC. Methods:The expression ofBRD4 in TNBC cell lines treated with gemcitabine was detected by reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR) and Western blot. The effect of BRD4 silencing plus gemcitabine in TNBC was illustratedin vitro and in vivo. Results:The expression ofBRD4 in TNBC was signiifcantly increased after treatment with gemcitabine. In vitro,BRD4 knockdown signiifcantly lowered the IC50 value. The apoptotic rate of TNBC was signiifcantly increased in theBRD4 silencing plus gemcitabine group compared to the other. The growth rate of tumorin vivo was signiifcantly lowered in the BRD4 silencing plus gemcitabine group.Conclusion:BRD4 may play an important role in the drug resistance to gemcitabine in TNBC.BRD4 silencing plus gemcitabine may be a novel treatment strategy for TNBC.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of interventional embolization on hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) with hepatic arterioportal shunts(APS) ,in the hope of improving patients' survival quality and time. MethodsTwenty-nine patients with HCC patients and APS after a successful PVA,steel coils embolization, all patients were given routine TACE therapy. The changes of gastrointestinal bleeding, ascites, diarrhea and aminotransferase were analyzed retrospectively. ResultsNineteen cases got successful embolization in the first time[achievement ratio 65.5%(19/29)]; 3 cases got recurrence after embolization [patency ratio 10.3%(3/29)],7 cases appeared new APS[incidence ratio 24.1%(7/29),5 cases were embolized 2 times, 2 cases were embolized 3 times]. The effective rate of gastrointestinal bleeding, diarrhoea, aacites were 91.7% (11/12), 84.6% ( 11/13 ), 83.3% ( 15/18 ) respectively, which had significant difference between preoperative and postoperative condition. The survival rate of 3 months,6 months, 1 year, and 2 years after operation were 96.6% (28/29),89.7% (26/29),65.5% (19/29),34.5% (10/29). Conclusion Interventional therapy is a safe and effective treatment to HCC with APS.

ABSTRACT

Based on the principle of binocular stereopsis, three-dimensional reconstruction of the nucleus isthmus (NI) in the frog (Rana nigromaculata) has been realized by using a microcomputer system. The histological techniques used were somewhat different from conventional ones in that two pin holes, which were regarded as fiducial points to ensure an accurate alignment of the outlines of microstructures in the serial sections during three-dimensional computer reconstructing, were made in the tissue block with a micropipette before it was cut. All operations such as collection of outline-data of the microstructures, data processing and drawing output were all under control of the software. Three-dimensional morphology of NI and its location in the midbrain have been demonstrated by the stereopairs. Its dimensions measured on the basis of the reconstruction is 500 (caudorostal)?810 (dorsoventral)?810 (mediolateral)?m. The significance of three-dimensional computer reconstruction for accurately measuring the dimensions of NI and other biological microstructures and for the study of histological morphology are discussed.

ABSTRACT

According to the principle of shading, the nucleus isthmi (NI) from the frog (Rana nigromaculata) and lizard (Gekko gekko) were reconstructed in three-dimensions by using a microcomputer system. The dimensions and volume of NI in the two species were measured. A comparison of the three-dimensional structure of NI from the frog, lizard and pigeon indicates that the more advancedis is the species of lower vertebrates in evolution, the more complex is the three-dimensional structure of their NI.
